I know you know I'm falling for you...hard
This song has been stuck in my head all day.
Etsy Art Roundup
I've been spending my day looking at prints on Etsy, and decided to share some of my findings...
Aliette is from France, and all of her illustrations have a really sweet feel. And they aren't too expensive ($24 for a 7.8x7.8" print)
thePaintedSky does a lot of bird-themed paintings. They aren't as cohesive as Aliette's, because the sizes are all different, but they're all sooo pretty.
PaintedBliss does watercolor paintings, and gives the option of buying prints or originals. She's also donating all the profits from her "One Tiny Wish" paintings to the Red Cross for relief efforts in Japan.
I love theatreclouds' paintings, especially the shadow puppet ones...
VelvetMorning does mixed-media vintagey collages...
I could keep going on, but I suppose that's enough for one post...

Time Warriors 3
This past Sunday I headed over to Fort Washington, MD to shoot a commercial for the company I work for. The concept is...complicated and metaphorical, so I won't really go into detail about it here. This particular shoot was only for 1/4 of the commercial (the other 3/4s had already been shot). Basically, it followed the journey of three people to deliver water to a well...
We had a Scotsman:
And a soldier:
Most of my time there was spent directing/acting/filming, but I had some time to take a few shots of the scenery. I'd love to have a day to just go and explore the area.
Probably the most fun part of the whole day was when a group of young boys (probably 10 or 11) ran up to us to see what we were doing. We told them we were filming an action movie called Time Warriors 3, and that they should look for it on DVD in a couple months. They were so excited that they had witnessed a movie set and ran back to tell their parents.
All of these pictures were taken with my Canon EOS 500D and a24mm f2.8 lens. Unedited.
Brainssss
On Friday I did a zombie-themed photoshoot. I'd had the idea for a while (Zombies Doing Normal Things, for lack of a wittier way to say it) and needed some pictures for my photography final. I wish I had taken a few shots of the preparation, but I figure I can get those whenever I get around to Part 2 -- which will probably happen this summer when more of my friends are in town.
We took some of the pictures around my house and then trecked through the woods to an area with a bunch of abandoned sheds, which definitely added to the mood of the whole shoot.
And now, some of my favorite shots:
I still have to develop the roll of film that I used along with my digital camera and make prints, so it should be interesting to see how those turn out.
All of these pictures were taken with my Canon EOS 500D and a 24mm f2.8 lens. Edited in Adobe Lightroom.
